COACH ERIC ROGERS - HEAD COACH BOYS CLUB TEAMS AND TRAINING
Born and raised in Chilliwack, Coach Eric Rogers brings a unique combination of high-level basketball experience, leadership, and mentorship to the Chilliwack Basketball Association.
A former university athlete, Eric played for the Trinity Western Spartans while completing his Bachelor of Science degree. His passion for the game continued beyond his playing career, leading him to coach with the Thompson Rivers University Men's Basketball program while attending law school. During his time at TRU, Eric also demonstrated a commitment to service and leadership through community involvement, legal aid work, and mentorship initiatives.
Today, Eric is a practicing lawyer with Baker Newby LLP, having been called to the British Columbia Bar in 2025. Despite his professional success, his greatest passion remains investing in young people and helping them grow both on and off the court.
Throughout his life, Eric has dedicated himself to serving others—whether working with underprivileged youth through the Cyrus Centre, coaching basketball and life skills in remote Indigenous communities, or supporting local youth programs right here in Chilliwack. His coaching philosophy extends beyond wins and losses. Eric believes basketball is a powerful vehicle for teaching confidence, resilience, leadership, accountability, and teamwork.
Parents appreciate Eric's ability to connect with athletes, create positive learning environments, and challenge players to reach their potential while building strong character. His goal is to help every athlete develop not only as a basketball player, but as a young person prepared for success in life.
When he's not coaching or practicing law, Eric enjoys spending time with his family, writing, playing basketball, and sharing his love of storytelling. He is proud to give back to the community that helped shape him and is excited to help the next generation of Chilliwack athletes grow through the game he loves.
